Making the Choice

Interview with Rev. and Mrs. Hagin Regarding What Distinguishes Rhema Bible Training Center (College) (RBTC) From Other Bible Schools.

WHAT DISTINGUISHES RHEMA BIBLE TRAINING COLLEGE (RBTC) FROM OTHER BIBLE SCHOOLS?

Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin: “I believe there is no better place to train for the ministry then RBTC because of the balance between the practical and the spiritual. I have often said that the natural and the supernatural coming together make an explosive force for God. And that’s what you get at RBTC. You get a lot of practical information that you will find very useful in your personal life and ministry. At the same time, you will receive spiritual ‘deposits’ that you might not even know are there until a situation comes up in which you need it. My father, Kenneth E. Hagin, once said, ‘Any time of preparation is never lost time.’ That statement has never been truer. Coming to RBTC will both strengthen your relationship with God and help prepare you for the ministry.”

Lynette Hagin: “There is nothing like stepping on the RBTC campus and sensing the presence of the Holy Spirit. That same presence is evident in the classroom as well. And the anointing is not only taught, It is caught. There is something special about being in one place with other believers of like precious faith. It’s so important to be able to hear and understand the voice of the Holy Spirit when He is speaking to your spirit. When you come to RBTC, the atmosphere is saturated with the presence of the Holy Spirit. The time you spend training here will help you learn His voice, which will be vital once you step out to do what God has called you to do in life and ministry.”

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU OFFER TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT CERTAIN IF THEY SHOULD ATTEND RBTC?

Rev. Kenneth W. Hagin: “If you are asking yourself, What should I do with my life? RBTC is a good place to come and find out. It would benefit you to get a solid foundation in the Word and to get the things we teach at RBTC into you. Many times, when people are wondering whether or not they are called to the ministry, they just need to come on and get the training in the Word and in the Spirit. The training will bless them, even if God hasn’t called them to preach or teach. And the training RBTC provides will make them much better laborers when they return to their local churches.”

Rhema Bible Training College is committed to helping students develop and grow in all aspects of their lives to include balancing school, work and family.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM AGES AT WHICH STUDENTS CAN BE ACCEPTED TO ATTEND RHEMA?
Sixteen (16) is the minimum age for acceptance as a student. There is no maximum age. We have had students who are grandparents graduate from Rhema Nigeria and we had a Teenager graduate also
DO YOU DO A CORRESPONDENCE OR DISTANCE-LEARNING OPTION?
RBTC USA provides a correspondence course and you can find out more about that by going to www.rhema.org. There have been a number of people who have completed this from Nigeria. However, the Rhema USA Correspondence Course is for personal enrichment and does not qualify you for a RBTC Diploma. The only way to receive an RBTC Diploma is to actually attend classes. This is because there are some things that can only be caught, not just taught.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
We have a very large and varied instructor pool that includes instructors from around the world each have proven ministry or other leadership experience. Every Instructor must be pre-approved by our President, Kenneth W. Hagin and/or the RBTC USA Leadership Team. Our commitment is to expose you to the highest quality instruction ensuring that you receive as good, or even better instruction than if you were attending class in the USA.
DO YOU OFFER THE SAME COURSES AS THEY DO IN THE USA?
Every RBTC around the world, including RBTC Nigeria must teach at least 90% of what is taught in Tulsa, OK, USA. RBTC Nigeria curriculum exceeds this standard. In some cases, Rhema Nigeria exceeds the USA and also contextualizes it for the Nigeria curriculum.
WILL THE COURSES OFFERED BE OF ANY REAL BENEFIT TO SOMEONE WHO HAS ALREADY BEEN IN THE MINISTRY?
Yes. Actually, it’s those who have been in ministry who tend to benefit the most as they value the practical classes more than someone who has not yet experienced real-life ministry. Many of our courses cover materials that many ministers say, “we wish we would have been taught at Bible College”. The insight received will enable anyone who has been in ministry, no matter how long, to be more effective.
I WILL HAVE TO WORK TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR MY FAMILY. IS IT POSSIBLE TO ATTEND RBTC AND STILL HAVE TIME TO WORK, STUDY, REMAIN FAITHFUL TO MY CHURCH, AND STILL HAVE A FAMILY LIFE?
Yes. RBTC is designed to be very accessible, allowing you to continue work, family responsibilities and church leadership roles, as well as fulfill your study requirements. It will take effort and at times you will need to make temporary adjustments to your schedule, but the school options are created for people with busy lives and we have received a lot of positive feedback regarding how even VERY busy people (bankers, doctors, senior pastors etc.) have been able to attend RBTC Nigeria.
WILL RBTC HELP ME FIND EMPLOYMENT OR LIVING ACCOMMODATION?
No. If students are relocating from outside the city, they will be responsible for their own employment and living arrangements. If you are relocating to the area, please contact the local campus to see how they can help point you in the direction as to where you can find information to assist you in your move.
WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR CLASS?
Smart ‘business casual’ – you do not need to wear a suit and tie, but you are welcome to. You are free to wear traditional dress. We only ask that you dress in a manner that is proper for someone being trained for leadership. More on this is found in the student handbook.
ARE THERE MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS?
There are no minimum educational requirements. However, you should be able to read and write English to a basic level. RBTC Nigeria is not overly academic, but there is a lot of reading. We have had some who have required aid in reading due to physical limitations, or learning challenges and with the aid of a partner they have been able to be very successful in completing the course.
WHAT IF I CANNOT COMPLETE BOTH LEVELS CONSECUTIVELY?
If you are unable to attend both levels consecutively, you may return at a later time and complete the advanced program. A certificate of completion is awarded after completing the 1st level (Basic Training), but graduation diplomas are only awarded only after completion of both 1st & 2nd levels.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO SKIP BASIC TRAINING (LEVEL 1) IF I HAVE ALREADY HAD OTHER TRAINING OR MINISTERIAL EXPERIENCE?
No. Regardless of your experience or training, everyone is required to complete the Level 1 – Basic Training program in full before enrolling in the Level 2 – Advanced Training program. Our training is so specialized, and Advanced Training builds on the Basic Training curriculum, so that even having attended a very good training program previously, there will be too many aspects of the program that a student would miss out on for them to get the most benefit from Level 2 (Advanced Training).
DOES AN RBTC NIGERIA DIPLOMA HAVE THE SAME VALUE AS RBTC USA?
When a person graduates from RBTC Nigeria they carry the same status as any RBTC Graduates from any of the more than 200 campuses around the world. In fact, if a person completes Level 1 at RBTC Nigeria, they could possibly transfer to any of the other worldwide campuses to do Level 2. Note: this does not guarantee a visa and the student would be required to apply and obtain the proper visa.
AM I AUTOMATICALLY LICENSED AND/OR ORDAINED UPON GRADUATION FROM RBTC?
No. Graduates are not automatically licensed and/or ordained after graduation. However, graduates are able to receive ministry credentials upon application and approval. Normally there is a period of proving oneself in ministry before credentials are given. However each graduate’s application for credentials is handled on a case-by-case basis. More details on Licensing and Ordination are made available to our graduates.
IS RBTC ACCREDITED?
Yes. RBTC USA (including all RBTCs around the world) is accredited with Transworld Accrediting Commission International (http://www.transworldaccrediting.com). There are some institutions that accept classes as transfer credits into their programs should you wish to go on to get a higher education degree. Southwestern University (USA) will receive credits from RBTC Nigeria.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAR IF I’VE BEEN ACCEPTED?
Applications will be processed within two weeks of receiving a FULLY completed application form, all pertinent recommendation forms, and your non-refundable Application Fee. If you have not heard from us within two weeks, send an email to admission@rhemanigeria.com.
HOW HARD IS IT ACADEMICALLY?
We strive to minister to the heart of the student, not educate the head at the expense of the heart. Therefore, though there are some courses that will be challenging to some students, the goal is not to get students to remember a lot of data including dates, names and specific facts, but instead to train them to be highly skilled ministers, who know how to depend and rely on the leading and empowering of the Holy Spirit.
CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS?
You can make payments from the time you apply and are accepted until you attend Registration Weekend.
